Becoming Independent after Rehab

11/23/2009: It's not as hard as you might think and really an uplifting experience to live alone. Living with a companion is better though. The loneliness is HELL. I just have to make alterations sometimes to do these things and you can too. Most leasers are willing to build you a ramp, I've found, because most handicapped people are long-term renters and more reliable. If you want a companion quick and keep your mind busy then get a computer. I have spend many hours on a computer learning new things, I've met people online (I met my wife online with a website I built on the computer). You can learn enough sitting in front of that computer to make some extra pocket money because Social Security just gives you enough to live in poverty. Just ask me and I'll be happy to share my experiences.
